Good Points
- Self basting spikes in the lid.
- Comprehensive instructions as well as online.
- Enamel cast iron handles are secure as they are moulded to the bowl.
- 50 year warranty.
Bad Points
- Borderline ease of use.
- D-shaped handles on the sides of the lid have limited grip, lid handles overhang the side handles on the bowl.
- Can be difficult to grip the lid handles when using an oven mitt.
- Lid is heavy.
- Significant wear and tear of enamel on handle, large chunk of enamel removed from pot handle but not inside the cooking area.
- Lifting with a heavy load may not feel secure.
- Lid only OK to clean, there are some crevices that can trap residue.
- Black interior can be difficult to determine whether your food is browning in the pan due to the lack of contrast and dark walls.
- Large heavy round shaped Dutch oven is only OK to clean in a domestic sink.
- Interior surface may need oiling after washing, due to discolouring.
- Initial seasoning is a process but fairly easy to do, upkeep is needed overtime such as oiling.
- Acidic foods weaken the seasoning avoid cooking these foods until the cookware is very well seasoned.
- Lid handles can become dangerously hot.
