KitchenAid Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer 5KSM70SHXADR
Good Points
- Beater height can be adjusted using a flat head screw driver.
- Pouring shield supplied, prevents splashing when adding ingredients while mixing. Large opening allows for easy adding of ingredients.
- Bowl has a fairly comfortable handle to help with positioning bowl and unit and to help with removing a load.
- Double flex edge beater (scraper beater) supplied.
- Bowl is large in capacity – good for large batch baking.
- Power hub at front of machine for using compatible attachments.
- Tools can be stored inside bowl when not in use.
Bad Points
- Basic instructions, multiple languages, very limited. Some more detailed information can be found on the KitchenAid website.
- Control lever stiff to operate.
- The motor head does not tilt, the bowl is raised or lowered by a large handle at the back of the unit. OK to access. Annoying if constantly scraping the bowl.
- Unit can still operate even though the bowl is not raised into position.
- Need to align bowl correctly in a specific position to lock into place, can be fiddly to align all three points.
- No eject button to remove beater, hand can come in contact with mixture.
- Mixing bowl is large and may not fit comfortably in a domestic sink.
- Difficult to store due to size, best left on the benchtop.
