Crumble Air fryer CCAF6LAU1
Good Points
- Removable non-stick cooking rack with finger holes, easy to insert and remove.
- Medium capacity, accommodates 500g frozen chips.
- Easy to use, basic controls.
- Unit has a blue metal exterior, available in many colours, fairly easy to wipe over.
- Quick cooking guide for some foods on the top of the air fryer for easy access, includes temperature and time.
- Drawer and basket can be cleaned in a domestic sink and may require extra effort or soaking to remove any baked on residue. Removable grill insert can be washed in the dishwasher. When the bowl and drawer are separate they are lightweight and easy to handle when cleaning.
- 'Water injection area' in base of drawer allows user to place approximately 80mls (1/3 cup) of water, then turn air fryer on and run, which will help with steaming the interior and make cleaning easier.
- Claims the non-stick coating is made from 100% food-grade organic silicone and that it is free from harmful chemicals like PTFE, PFOA, and PFAS.
Bad Points
- Large glass panel but only a small viewing window, restricted viewing. Light stays on when air fryer is running.
- Two dial controls, one for the timer and one for temperature. Need to set the timer dial in order for the machine to turn on. Manual control selection means it can be difficult to set accurate time and temperature settings. No indicator light.
- Labelling is small with poor colour contrast. Light blue exterior and white labelling makes it difficult to view. Some written labelling printed around the control dials. Not all time and temperatures shown, graded.
- Relatively large unit, only OK to store, takes up bench space. May not fit easily into a kitchen cupboard. Best left out on a bench top. OK to lift and move. No handles to assist in lifting.
- Very basic instructions, no instructions on how to steam, states it has a MAX indicator line in the basket and a quantities table in the instruction manual, this is not so.
- Control panel is on the front of the unit, may need to bend slightly to view.
- Some cracks and crevices around the controls can trap residue.
- Viewing window requires extra attention. Condensation can build up inside the drawer between the glass. Residue can become trapped between the glass and be difficult to remove.
- Can be difficult to clean around exposed elements on the top and the bottom of the unit. No access to the fan, overtime residue can build up around the fan, may cause residue to burn on and cause the unit to expel unpleasant odours and smoke during use.
- No pre-programmed settings only variable temperature selection.
- Some exterior temperatures can become very hot.
- The steel interior is only OK to wipe out, baked on residue may be difficult to clean.
- No prompt to shake or turn the food.
