Saimi worked as an investigative journalist at CHOICE, for two years, from 2019 to 2021. She covered many consumer issues, including an expose of the funeral industry – revealing a system that makes it hard for people to take funeral matters into their own hands, with widespread price gouging and misleading fees. Previously, she was an online news all-rounder at The Sydney Morning Herald, contributed to The Guardian and other publications and was a recipient of a Walkley Award for Student Journalist of the Year.
