Microsoft's Surface Laptop 4 has a powerful AMD Ryzen 7 processor, which helped propel it to an excellent score in our CPU performance tests. It's definitely a quick laptop for office-type tasks and online communications and media streaming. The screen is large with a high resolution of 2496 x 1664, with a squarer aspect than most, so you can see more rows on the screen at the same time (handy for spreadsheets, for example). The downside is that there is a lack of ports u002du002d you only get one USB-A and one USB-C port (non-Thunderbolt), though the USB-C port can be used with a third-party hub to provide more USB-A ports and connection to a second display.
