- Apple core may be damaged when using ribbon blade.
- Blades are exposed at the back of the unit making it dangerous for the user when removing food from behind the blade, when safety guard is not used.
- Firm pressure required to push lower handle towards blade. Need to maintain constant pressure to encourage even spiral.
- Dangerous to remove core and unsliced food from around blade.
- Difficult to clean blades as they are not removable. Crack and crevices around blade are difficult to access and clean.
- Accessories are not dishwasher safe.
- Unit is quite bulky and may be awkward to fit in domestic sink.
- Wastage of core and approx 1cm of fruit/veg not sliced.
