Whirlpool AKT799IXL
Good Points
- Very good overall.
- Excellent for low temperature and high temperature cooking.
- Good for turn down performance.
- Good for ease of use.
- Layout positioning is very good, wok centre and medium and simmer are positioned at the front.
- Pan support is good on all burners, except small burner.
- Stainless steel trivets are light weight and are divided into 3 for easier cleaning in a domestic sink.
- Trivets have a very smooth surface making it easier to wipe over.
- Labelling is fairly obvious as to which burner is for each control.
- Laser etched serigraphy on control panel settings u0026 logo, unlikely to be removed.
- Protected coating on stainless steel surface prevents yellowing, corrosion and has strong resistance to scratches as well as less likely to show fingerprint marks.
- Cooktop surface can be wiped over without removing burners.
- Burner surround is moulded and fairly easy to clean. All burners have a raised edge so liquid spills are less likely to run into workings.
Bad Points
- Need to use a trivet for small burner, only OK stability for a small pan or coffee pot.
- No wok trivet supplied.
- Only 4 out of 5 pots fit comfortably, there is restricted access to some burners.
- Controls are positioned at the front of the cook top making them accessible to children.
- No grading on controls.
- No spill catchment and no separation from burner to burner.
- Many cracks and crevices on cooktop surface, which can trap dirt and grime.
- 3 parts to each burner, can be fiddly to clean.
