Miele KM 7678 FL
Good Points
- Very good for element size and cooking zone selection – no specific cooking zones defined, claims pots/pans can be placed in any position.
- 6 separate controls for each cooking zone.
- Accommodates up to 6 pots/pans at the same time.
- Obvious as to which control for each cooking zone, once pot/pan has been placed on the cooktop.
- The control elements move according to where the pans are on the cooktop. If you move the pan, the numerical display will follow.
- Glass surface has a non-slip film so it is less likely for pans to slide or move easily when stirring. Pans must be lifted to move.
- No edge. Touch controls easy to wipe over and clean.
Bad Points
- Cooking zone dimensions are not obvious, there are 3 main areas within the useable cooking zone area, each area is made up of 4 cooking elements (like a flexi zone certain placement of the pan may result in slightly uneven cooking.
- Pans with a base diameter between 100 and 145 mm will not be detected in every position on the cooktop.
- Controls must be kept free of grease and moisture otherwise they will not respond to touch.
- Flexi zone may not have even heat distribution.
- No specific 'on' indicator light.
- Control settings are slightly crowded may be difficult for larger fingers due to spacing.
