For a little under $600, Lenovo's IdeaPad Flex 5 is a bit better equipped than most cheap laptops: it comes with a IPS screen, which provides wide viewing angles, and it has good input devices. This means user comfort is good, but how hard you run it will determine your overall satisfaction. Its Pentium Gold CPU felt decent during general operation, and is preferable to a model with a Celeron or lower class Pentium (such as Silver). The major downside is the low 4GB RAM capacity, which can't be upgraded.
