HP's ENVY 13 is small, thin, and light, making it highly portable as an everyday computer between home and school or work. It looks elegant and feels comfortable to type on, but there are some design elements that are curious. For example, the USB-A ports have hinged flaps that move downward to allow devices to be plugged in, and they can make the ports a bit awkward to use. They are designed this way due to the wedge shape of the base, which makes the laptop look thinner than it already is. Another curiosity is a physical switch for toggling the built-in webcam on and off. Other laptops use an F-key for the same function and we think it's too easy to forget about the presence of that switch should the camera not come on when it is needed.
