Consider Dell's Inspiron 3576 a laptop that can replace your desktop computer. It's relatively heavy, so it shouldn't be used if portability is a key buying point; it will be more at home sitting on a desk for the majority of its lifespan. It has a 15.6-inch screen with a Full HD resolution (though its viewing angles are not great), there is dedicated graphics memory for a better-than-usual ability to run 3D applications, and it even has a DVD drive (which can be useful for archiving discs, for example). It's essentially an "old school" computer with few modern touches (for example, there are no USB-C ports, and its ethernet port tops out at 100Mbps, rather than gigabit). Note: This laptop's performance is not directly comparable to current products due to it being tested with an older version of our benchmark.
