Expert tester comments
Dell's Inspiron 5000 (5570) has a basic configuration that includes a hard drive rather than a solid state drive, but it does have a trick up its sleeve for the system to overcome the sluggishness that can be caused by hard drives: Intel Optane technology. Optane is a 16GB solid state drive that is installed for the sole purpose of automatically caching the most used data, making the system respond quicker when booting and launching programs. However, Optane was not enabled by default in our laptop, without instructions given to do so. We had to search the web for instructions to enable it, thus our performance testing was done without Optane enabled. Note: This laptop's performance is not directly comparable to current products due to it being tested with an older version of our benchmark.
