Apple's MacBook Air with M3 processor delivered slightly better performance and battery life in our tests, compared to the M2 model, with the added bonus of being a silent-running, passively cooled laptop. It maintains a light yet solid chassis, and continues to offer very good display and audio quality. The backlit keyboard with Touch ID has well-spaced keys that are easy to hit and quiet when hit, and the touchpad is huge. A point of different between the M2 and M3 MacBook Air laptops is the ability of the M3 to now support two external displays (with the lid closed) via its Thunderbolt 4 ports, rather than just one external display, making it more suitable for docking.
