Submission to Productivity Commission on analysis of competition policy reforms

CHOICE has led a joint submission to the Competition taskforce consultation on revitalising national competition policy. The submission urges the Government to treat consumer outcomes as the main goal of competition reform. 

Consumers are the end users of markets their voices and interests are too often put secondary to businesses. Competition for competition’s sake does not always deliver good consumer outcomes, so Government needs to be prepared to do more to protect consumers.
