TPG broadband review

Since acquiring iiNet in 2015, TPG is one of the largest internet service providers (ISPs) in Australia. But how does it rate? We examine the top ISPs to find out their real-world NBN speeds and how happy their customers are.

If you’re interested in switching to a new plan, check out our round-up of the best NBN plans.

How fast are TPG NBN plans?

The ACCC’s broadband provider performance program records the NBN speeds of Australian internet service providers and publishes its data quarterly. We take this data and apply a scoring methodology to help show which providers come out best for speed across different NBN speed tiers and connection technologies.

Check out our NBN provider speed performance scores for more details.

At the end of each financial year, we combine the ACCC’s speed data with our most recent satisfaction survey to figure out which ISPs are the best in Australia.

The graph below includes a tab comparing overall speed scores for FY21–22.

TPG was one of the few providers that scored under 90% for this period, though only barely (89%).
