The addition of rear suspension to the Xroad line makes the Xroad 3 FS the most comfortable e-ride around. It's completely at home on a rail trail and happy to eat up the kilometres of a long commute. It's equipped with a full set of mudguards, a chainguard, a rack and kickstand for convenience and protection from the elements. The top-of-the-line Bosch Performance CX motor (more commonly seen on e-MTBs) is very powerful and amazingly responsive. Unfortunately for long distance commuters, it only assists pedalling to 32km/h. This is a tall bike the suspension doesn't compress until you sit on it. It's difficult to get on and off and reaching a foot to the ground when coming to a halt means leaning to one side. It's a problem that can be solved by adding a dropper seat post (also more common on e-MTBs) which uses a remote lever on the handlebar to lower and raise the seat. It's something to keep in mind if you're weighing up splashing the cash as installing one will add a few hundred to the purchase price.
